“It was regrettable. That was essentially an exchange with our fans seated near me,” Jones explained during a radio appearance. “There was a swarm of Cowboys fans—not Jets fans, our fans. The whole venue was filled with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further clarified that the signal was completely unintentional, happening amid the elation following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply showed the wrong finger,” he remarked. “It was inadvertently performed. I’m not kidding. If you want to call it accidental, you can. But it got resolved pretty quick.”
